It's too cold out there

Last night's party was fun. Good food, good company, cats available for stroking. I drank lots of cider, gossiped, had books recommeded to me, all the usual things.

And then we went out into the cold. And it was not good. Whatever virus I have seems to have moved into my chest. I'm fine, but it was a slow walk to the train, and then a slow walk home, stopping to catch my breath every block or so.

The cat wanted to curl up on my chest, as she often does at night, and I couldn't let her. I suspect that she came back when I was asleep and took advantage, but in this case what I don't know really won't hurt me.

So, an extra day off that should have been a chance to visit the zoo becomes a chance to stay home without using up a sick day. At least I don't get to debate with myself whether it's too cold, and whether I might as well go in to the office.

Argh, I had a similar problem, though in my case it wasn't quite as bad as I expected; hacking coughs every couple of blocks, but at leats my breathing passages were clear, which is not always true when I leave Ellie's.

Sympathy.
