Too good to be true

Some of the construction workers demolishing the Deutsche Bank building have walked off the job.

They are employed by the John Galt Co.

See "life imitating fiction" tag, think Ayn Rand.

Yeah, I see that now. Ah, well -- my misunderstanding was why I looked up the answer, which is why I'm now deeply amused at the irony rather than completely missing it. :)

And yet the news story says nothing about the irony. Kids Journalists these days!

Near my grandparents' house in Omaha, there is John Galt Blvd. My grandmother once said to the family at large, "I was over at the bank on John Galt Boulevard -- who is John Galt?" The rest of us guffawed, which was probably not kind, as it left her as confused as she'd begun.

Urm - who is John Galt? What's the significance of this person (this person: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Galt ?)?

No, this person (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Characters_in_Atlas_Shrugged#John_Galt). (er, character.) Legendary dude. "Stopped the motors of the world."

Ayn Rand is annoying, film at all.

Or were you not being serious?

I was being serious. Not part of my culture, it seems!
