sunny days help
I've finally planted the packet of snapdragon seeds that has been sitting next to my computer for the last few weeks. Snapdragon seeds turn out to be tiny things, small enough that it's hard to be sure if you've put one, or four, or none into a hole. After a bit, I just loosened areas of soil and scattered the seeds. The instructions on the packet say to plant them an eighth of an inch deep, so this might work. Of course, they also say I'm supposed to have started them indoors, in a warm, well-lighted place (as if I had such to spare), then thinned and transplanted them. On the other hand, last summer's snapdragons are showing nice pink buds. Annuals, indeed!
I also got to do one of the things I'm good at. Daniel, who we met a few weeks ago, is back in town, has a free afternoon, and needed directions to the Statue of Liberty. He called, and was a bit apologetic; I told him it's cool, I'm a bit of a transit geek. Then I pulled out the map to check that my fallback plan (the 1 not running to South Ferry these days) would work, described what to do when they got out of the train, and warned them that bags would be searched.

(Anonymous) 2002-04-27 07:40 am (UTC)(link)We are very late on planting a pack of mixed chilis (http://www.humeseeds.com/pep_mix.htm) here, but I hope we'll get some peppers by the end of the season.
