I never met Damon, in person that is. I read his fiction, and we were both on the GEnie SF Roundtable way back when.

He was 80. It's still a shock.

I mostly knew him from the SFRT. And he and Kate were wonderful when they came out to Minneapolis for a Fourth Street I think it was.

I haven't read that much of his work really, but he was just so very very cool on GEnie that he made a huge impression on me.
