On Barry Bonds: yes, exactly. People behave as though taking every steroid in the world could make someone into Barry Bonds. It couldn't. timprov has often said, "No amount of drugs in the world today could make me hit like Barry Bonds." A lot of what makes Barry Bonds fun to watch -- if he's fun to watch at all -- is how, when he's "on," he can take just about any pitch and just send it sailing. Steroids will not teach that kind of timing and direction.
