a pleasant surprise

Being at a lull in the current work/project, I decided to see if I could change my ticket for Minicon, to leave earlier and/or return later, and what this would cost.

The nice woman said it would depend what changes I wanted. When I described them, she offered me two ridiculously early flights (no way am I going to be at LaGuardia for a 6:55 a.m. flight), and one a couple of hours earlier than I had. For the return, she gave me two reasonable choices Monday. No charge for the changes.

On one day's notice. For a ticket bought with frequent flyer miles and a whole $5 cash.

This basically gives me almost a whole extra day in Minneapolis, including likely Sunday evening music parties.

Excellent! Sunday night is sometimes my favorite night of Minicon (though I like 'em all and it varies from year to year).

Woo! Well, not that it helps me out much (I'll be leaving the con at the latest around noon-thirty on Sunday, to take the OSO to the airport before going home to spend some time with the husband.) But people spending more time in Minneapolis is cool in principle. Something like that, anyway.

It helps indirectly, perhaps: I'll be less frantic, and have more time to spread among the same people.

Or maybe I'll just spend hours playing Fluxx with Sasha. Who knows?
