I do NOT like this

I was coughing some, before and right after dinner.

And now I'm feeling short of breath, in a way that feels distressingly familiar: it feels like the symptoms that sent me to the doctor's around Thanksgiving, when she treated me for a lung infection and gave me a prescription for an asthma inhaler.

I really hope that this will be better in the morning--a great many things are, even if one doesn't take two aspirin before bed. But my chest feels and sounds congested.

I haven't called the pulmonologist yet--I was waiting until the transit strike was over, and then just didn't get around to it Friday. Which realistically means no appointment until I get back from Montreal.

I hope you feel better soon. Prayers and good thoughts on the way.

I can't remember which it is, but either aspirin or ibuprofen enhances asthmatic symptoms in something like 10% of people. I had terrible asthma when I was little and I know I couldn't have one of them, but since my parents never gave us either (Mom's a homeopathic person), I can't remember the difference. So, if they think it might be asthma, maybe be a little cautious with it.

It is aspirin that can make it worse in some people.
Steam from hot water running the bathroom can sometimes help.
Hope you feel better and have an enjoyable holiday in spite of it.

I hope you feel better soon, and that it doesn't complicate your trip.
