Dinner out; tired now

I had dinner last night at Grand Sichuan with [livejournal.com profile] marykaykare and Michael Weholt, whose LJ I can't remember. Mary Kay is in town for a few days, had arranged to have dinner with me, and suggested Michael join us. A good thing, I hadn't seen him in ages.

We talked, and ate various things. The cold rabbit I ordered as a starter was too spicy for me. I was very happy with the "pork with garlic shoots": the waiter warned us it was very fat meat, and indeed it was much closer to bacon than to the pork I'd expect in a stir-fry, and very nice.

Cheerful conversation, nothing earth-shattering. Unfortunately for me, Grand Sichuan serves a strong black tea, not the oolong or jasmine I'm used to. I drank lots of it--I like tea. This doesn't mean it's a good idea to drink it in quantity at dinnertime. [livejournal.com profile] cattitude (who had to work late) and I went to bed at a reasonable hour; at midnight I got tired of lying there and not falling asleep, so I got up, realized I wasn't up to reading or anything that required concentration, and played computer games and chatted briefly with [livejournal.com profile] adrian_turtle before going to bed around 1.

I am annoyed, not so much at being short on sleep--six hours isn't horrible, not for one night--but because I know this one and I did the foolish thing anyway.
