Unhappy with Mozilla

After two or three days of trying, I have successfully downloaded and installed Mozilla Firefox 1.0.4 to replace 1.0.3, because of security holes.

I cannot convince it to use my existing bookmarks. Thus far, I have tried creating multiple profiles; renaming the bookmark.bak file; and following the instructions in the FAQ on how to use an existing bookmark file. Nada.

I highly recommend Firefox, which has recently been updated to account for the previously-publicized bugs.

Oh. sorry.

Were you aware that they upgraded last night to take care of a lot of the bugs?

Strangeness, the built in update feature seems to have worked flawlessly for me. I saw a post over at totalfark (http://totfark.com) where someone was having a similar problem and there was like 200 replies that said, "works fine for me, try changing the name of your installation directory." So that's what I'd recomend...

Have you tried simply grabbing the old bookmark file out of your old profile directory, moving it somewhere else, and importing it with the Bookmark Manager?
