Paid account extensions

If you had a paid account when LiveJournal was down this past weekend, you can claim two extra weeks of paid time here.

I don't know why they don't just extend the time automatically, but all you need to do is log in and click.

Yay, now my account actually expires on the holiday it was nominally purchased for!

Cool, thanks! I read your personal announcement before anything official from LJ. Probably just a matter of timing, but still.

Thanks. I probably would have missed it otherwise.

Maybe they're making it optional in case someone feels they don't deserve it?

I think it was [livejournal.com profile] mamadeb that was out for Sabbath, and didn't especially miss it - it went down the barest bit before she had to stop using the computer anyway, and was back up just after she could start using the computer again. So, she didn't especially miss it. I could someone who was on vacation or traveling without internet access also deciding they didn't want to take advantage of it.
