It is now blackberry season

I know this because I picked at ate three blackberries at lunchtime.

I will celebrate Pi Approximation Day by having blackberry pie (bought last Saturday) for dessert; the farmer who sold it to me may have a more favorable climate, or an earlier-ripening variety of blackberry, than my employer's parking lot.

I would have suspected as much, based on all the ripening berries in my yard.

There were lots of ripe blackberries in the wetlands I went to today, the picking of which is a strict no-no. Not that blackberry brambles are endangered up here, um, no. But still... I couldn't resist.

I had a blackberry.

It was yummmy.

I picked my first ripe blackberry from my own bushes about 10 days ago :-) What is Pi Approximation Day (I feel so ignorant, asking...)?

Thanks for reminding me: the blackberries down by the creek were not quite ripe when I went by last week: maybe they're ready now.
