cjsmith's plan worked, and mactavish has her birthday scooter, and was absolutely delighted.

I am happy to have been a small part of this, and pleasantly surprised that several hundred people managed to keep a secret for weeks.

That's wonderful! I don't know mactavish, and had never even heard of her until now, but reading about this, and going back to scooting and reading about all the care and preparation that went into this really makes me happy - it helps restore my faith in humanity. (At least until the next time I watch the news.)

i don't know mactavish either, though i've encountered her in various people's LJ's, but wow, this rocks amazingly, and you folks are wonderful for thinking up and contributing to such an excellent gift and surprise for somebody you care about.
