And here we go again

[livejournal.com profile] eleanor came over for lunch, and we had a good conversation--but when I went to walk with her as far as Broadway (four blocks) to run some errands, halfway there she pointed out that I was coughing a lot and should go home. And then L called and observed that I sounded worse than I had on Sunday, and should see my doctor.

I called, and the doctor's receptionist invited me to come right over. I did that thing. I have again had my temperature taken, my tongue depressed, and my chest listened to. The upshot is a different antibiotic prescription--this one to be taken with plenty of water, and not too near a multivitamin, and with advice to be careful about sun exposure and eat yogurt--and a referral for a chest X-ray. Oh joy. So tomorrow morning I'll take the bus up to St. Joseph's, and have my innards photographed. I have no idea what to hope for, or against, other than a short wait.

Wishing you a short wait and good news, however you define that.

Good luck. Fingers crossed for you.

Goodness.

I'm sending an army of microscopic Xenas to defeat those microbes and drive them out!

A.
(oh, and hugs :)

Oh, dear, that sucks. Feel better soon.

In point of fact, I believe I politely asked you not to cough up a lung.

Feel better soon, OK? If you want me to come up and study at your place, or cook for you , just say so.

What you want to hope against is pneumonia (not unlikely, I've had it) and TB -- unlikely, very unlikely, but good that they're checking.

So I hope for clear lungs and a well soon Redbird. Eat bio-yog, and eat lots when you've finished the course. Unpasteurized cheese works too.

*hug* Get well soon.

My slow-motion cold has reached the icky coughing stage -- normally I'd have gone through everything in the last week in a morning.
