reading: year-end summary

In the last couple of months, I've read several mystery novels and two fantasy romances: Paladin's Hope, by T. Kingfisher, and The Grey Horse, by R. A. MacAvoy.

Plus an assortment of short fiction, including some Yuletide fanfics.

I said a couple of days ago that I hadn't done much reading this year, but looking at the spreadsheet, it's somewhere between 30 and 42 books, depending on how I count the novellas.

I should try The Grey Horse. I love MacAvoy’s Nazhuret series, and also her Tea With the Black Dragon. I’ll put it on my list.

You could take the LibraryThing approach and just call each thing you read a work. Unless you're tracking page counts as well?

I count novellas with the novels, and list anthologies of short stories separately. If there are novellas in the anthology, I sometimes pull them out to record separately.

Pretty good! I managed...ooh, maybe 27 books? Which is much more than I had any hope of when the year started and I was finding fictional narrative so difficult to encompass. Happy new year!
