cat

Artemis, who had been spending about 22 hours a day curled in a corner where we couldn't really reach her, has emerged and returned to the behavior we were used to.

This means I got a cat curled on my lap first thing this morning, purring as I stroked her. And when she was done with that, she wandered off briefly then came back and meowed loudly, so I brushed her thoroughly. The amount of fur on the brush was evidence of how little brushing she'd had lately.

Other than that, I'm sniffly and tired, and leaning toward doing the gym tomorrow instead of today. Maybe do laundry, buy some groceries (exciting things like yogurt, fruit, and aluminum foil), but not head downtown.

re: cat - cool. Amber goes through phases of hiding in my laundry basket these days. She used to sleep in the closet, until I cleaned it out and found that the reason she'd been spending so much time in there is because of the heating vent in the floor (yes, of the closet, to keep our clothes nice and toasty warm). I took away the blanket that had been in there, and now the laundry basket is the closest soft place to the heating vent. Heh.

re: groceries - I'm not sure why, but the grocery list "yogurt, fruit, aluminum foil" is a gleeful thing to me right now. Probably because I haven't had coffee yet. ;)

It being summer where I am Tantamile and myself are in the middle of her shedding winter hair. This shedding is greater than ever this year. In fact she has lost whole sections of her top coat leaving behind only the shortest and finest of hairs. Since she appears to be in the best of health I can only assume this is simply a consequence of her getting older. She is seventeen near as i can work it out.
