In the last few days, I've gotten several calls on the data line--which, in theory, should never ring--for Simon and Shuster. The latest came in as my mother and brother were ringing the doorbell. When I told the woman on the other end that this wasn't Simon and Shuster, it was my home phone, she explained that she'd gotten the number off the Web. So I got the URL from her, and this morning I have written to the person whose Web page it is, explaining that this isn't the S&S number, and asking her to change her Web page.

Um... you might want to make this post friends only, I would have thought. Just in case anyone uses this info as a method to get hold of your phone number to hassle you.

Nah. If it gets too bad, I'll turn the ringer off on the dataline phone.

I discovered that if I punch in just the wrong combination for the production manager over at Pocket, I get NYC City Hall.
