poutine

Today's outing was to Frites Alors! (the one near UQAM) for dinner, in part because they have outdoor seating.

I had a poutine with mushrooms, onions, and bell pepper, and rysmiel had a burger, and fries with aioli. Theee were extra steps, because I got down to the sidewalk and realized I'd forgotten to grab my silk overshirt. But we used elevators in the metro, and I'd taken an NSAID an hour or two before we set out, and that was sufficient care that my knees and hips don't hurt. (I think the extra stairs are why my thighs were a bit sore on the walk back to the metro after dinner.

We are, unfortunately, at the end of summer (or beginning of fall), with rather more yellow-jackets than when I ate outdoors in May and June. (We went to tht Frites Alors! in June, and had no problems with insects.)

comments
