The good news is from the park: whatever else is going on, we have a common merganser on the salt marsh, there was a peregrine falcon hunting near it yesterday morning, and three canvasback ducks have arrived for the winter. On a clear morning, the grey of winter turns into golden brown, the sun sparks off the water, and everything feels better.
