I've been using Yahoo Calendar (http://calendar.yahoo.com/) for that kind of thing (and keep meaning to post something about that) ... any events I read about in email or elsewhere that I might want to go to, I just copy and paste the info into the calendar. Or obviously another calendar would work as well, but I already had a Yahoo ID, and their calendar seemed pretty full-featured.
