redbird: closeup of pale purple crocuses (crocuses)

Phenology (the few blocks near my home)

The cherries are starting to bloom: the drooping cherries are fully in bloom, and a more ordinary looking cherry is about half-blooming today. Lots of red tree flowers in the park (Japanese maple, maybe?). Also, the willows are definitely yellow, and there are a few maple flowers.

Crocus are done (and mine failed completely this year); chionodoxa are bright blue; there are both purple violets in profusion, and some white violets, in the church gardens; daffodils wide open, first tulips. Lots of dandelion leaves, and the grass greening well.

Sorry to hear about your crocuses - I forgot to get any this year, and my new garden doesn't seem to have any already, so I must remember to get some for next year.

Our dandelion flowers are being greatly appreciated by bees and butterflies! I really like dandelion flowers :-)
