Last time I shopped for shoes, my husband tried to talk me into buying two pair: one that fits my left foot and one that fits my right. I just couldn't bring myself to do it - shoes are already expensive, and it seems so wasteful to throw away two of them! So even though I know the Sam Vimes theory of quality footwear, I'm now wearing a pair that comes the closest, and being careful not to walk out of the one that's just a little too big.
