I didn't wear scarves over my face in a long time, in part because of my glasses fogging. My eyesight now, a couple of years after cataract surgery, is better than it had been for decades before I developed cataract and had surgery.

On my mental list of "things I'm glad I had already dealt with before Covid, the cataract surgery is high on the list.
