visit, and some miscellany
Since I'm still recovering from surgery,
roadnotes came up here for the afternoon. We drank tea and talked: life and relationships, past and present. Much missed: we keep up by LJ and IM, but we need to actually sit down in the same place fairly often.
cattitude was part of the beginning and end of the conversation, with a nap in the middle.
In the course of the conversation, I'd asked Roadnotes if she felt up to trying to reinsert my captive bead earring. She said she didn't think so. I slipped the ring in anyhow, to encourage the piercing not to close, figuring I'd just leave it there until we went out. A few minutes later, I started fiddling with the bead, and got it to slip into the right position. So that's one task out of the way.
Another piece of good news is that the local tapwater no longer tastes flat or weird.
At the end of the afternoon, we walked her part of the way to the subway; this isn't quite the longest walk I've done since getting home, but Cattitude was still tired. (He's been pushing himself hard the last fortnight, taking care of me.) There are lilacs, still, and paulownia, and a general and impressive green.
