In case anyone wonders why some of us get annoyed at "Season's Greetings"

This turned up on an email list I'm on today:

Rockin' Ramadan!

Peaceful Passover!

Successful Solstice!

Merry Christmas!

Bang-up Boxing Day!

Carefree Kwanzaa!

Yoyful Yule!

Happy New Year/Hogmanay!

Marvelous Martin Luther King Day!

Excellent Emperor Norton Day!

Salubrious Sadie Hawkin's Day!

Also, it would be nice to have more space in the "mood" field. What I wanted to put was "irritated and not at all ecumenical".)

Note to self

Do not send redbird a card. Too risky.

I've often wished there were more space in the "mood" field myself.

I didn't realize they were all supposed to be December holidays. Martin Luther King day is in February, and I think Sadie Hawkins' Day and Emperor Norton Day are in the spring. So was the person who posted this actually being serious, and trying to wish people well for every end of the year holiday?

There's an Emperor Norton Day ? Cool. What does one do to celebrate it ?

This year I will definitely be celbrating the anniversary of the Battle of Clontarf.

I generally go for a "Happy Whatever You Celebrate" type of message.
