sudden huge amounts of spam

I've deleted something like 100 pieces of spam since dinnertime. I don't know what's going on here--I do get some, but usually the filters (procmail at the panix end, then local Eudora filters) block most of it, and suddenly I'm up to my ears in people offering to send thousands of strangers to my website, or claiming that my post has expired.

You think maybe someone has passed out your email to spam sites to get even for something?
