The installers have been here, taken out the old air conditioner, installed the new one, and taken the old away. They have also advised me that, with a cat, we should clean the filter every two weeks. With this model, that looks easy enough that we probably will do it (or close enough: it may be that paydays, which are bimonthly for both me and ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
cattitude, will be easier to remember than "every other Saturday" or such.
One nice thing: this model has a timer, so I'm not stuck with either using lots of electricity to cool the bedroom all day, or coming home to a very hot room (one small cat doesn't need as much AC as two humans plus that cat), as we were with the previous. That's not how Cattitude chose it, and in fact he hadn't noticed it: we chose a store based on their willingness to deliver and install, and the machine was selected based on BTU rating (which is 50% above the one it's replacing).
